Ms. Griffin is a geochemist who has experience applying geochemical methods in various settings and materials, including marine environments, contaminated groundwater, vapor intrusion, and soil sites. She is skilled in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of soil, water, and organic materials, field and laboratory data. She has experience with petroleum hydrocarbon, PCBs, VOCs, RCRA metals, and hexavalent chromium contamination and remediation. She was a member of the SSP&A field team for the Bannister site redevelopment project in Kansas City, MO, and specialized in managing contractor implementation of procedures specified in the site Soil Management Plan, conducting research on historic conditions contained in the site’s extensive archives, and providing evaluation of geochemical and hydrologic data generated at the site to support environmental remediation decisions and investigations. Ms. Griffin’s recent work focuses on providing evaluation of historic and recent geochemical data and the planning of sampling and field oversight events.
Ms. Griffin’s academic research background centers around forensic chemistry, the use of stable and radioactive isotopes in the environment and organisms, development of statistical verification for biochemical based records, and marine climate change.
